Packing 101: Singapore & Malaysia
There are few things that you will want to pack when visiting Singapore and Malaysia or any Asian country that’s humid.
- Small packets of tissue – I didn’t read anywhere that I needed to bring tissue or napkins for use at restaurants. As soon as you eat at a restaurant, you will see people pulling out small packets of tissue when they eat. Restaurants don’t provide napkins.
- Toilet seat covers
- Travel toilet paper
- Travel-size hand sanitizer – You don’t need Purell. Generics are just as good.
- Insect spray – When it’s humid, the bugs will come out. Asia has the best spray ever by Tiger Balm. It’s the only that works for me. Someone let me know how the Siwalee brand works!
- Neutrogena sunblock
- Hat or visor
- Hand fan or small electric hand fan – Travelon has good reviews.
- Charocaps – I recommend just taking some in case you eat something bad. My gastroenterologist had me take Charcoaps when I eat too many oysters or stuff that’s too rich.
- Power converter – These are dependent on the country you’re traveling to so make sure it’s the correct one.
- Travel size umbrella
